Wind Spells are incantations used to manipulate the element of air.

Wind is an unpredictable element that can be used in a variety of ways, including directing air currents, conjuring devastating whirlwinds, and striking down enemies with lightning. It can even be used to strangle someone by depriving them of air.

History[]

Merlin203 1691

Merlin directs a cloud of mist to confuse the Knights of Camelot.

Merlin defeated the Afanc by using his magic to combine an air current with the fire from Arthur's torch (The Mark of Nimueh).

When Ealdor was attacked by bandits, Merlin conjured a powerful whirlwind to drive them off (The Moment of Truth).

After he discovered that Nimueh had killed Gaius, Merlin engaged her in a duel and struck her down with lightning. He then used the power over life and death to trade her life for Gaius's (Le Morte d'Arthur).

When Arthur and his men attacked the Druid camp, Merlin created a cloud of mist to help Mordred, Morgana, and Aglain escape (The Nightmare Begins).

While collecting firewood in the forest outside Camelot, Merlin amused himself by conjuring a horse out of smoke (The Witchfinder).

When Morgana tried to kill Uther, Merlin used a nonverbal spell to summon a powerful air current that shattered the king's window and threw Morgana against the wall (The Crystal Cave).

After triggering a booby trap that released poisonous smoke, Merlin used his magic to dissipate it (Aithusa).

When Merlin (disguised as Dragoon the Great) was discovered searching Morgana's hovel for the Fomorroh, he engaged the witch in a duel and defeated her with a powerful whirlwind spell (A Servant of Two Masters).

When he was tortured by Alator, Gaius created an air current that briefly extinguished his fire spell (The Secret Sharer).

When Merlin discovered that she was forcing Mithian to lead Arthur into a trap, Morgana used her magic to strangle him until he lost consciousness (Another's Sorrow).

After escaping from prison, Merlin conjured a gust of wind to extinguish all of the torches in the courtyard (A Lesson in Vengeance).

Before subjecting him to the Gean Canach, Morgana had Ari demonstrate his skills by extinguishing braziers. She later used a nonverbal spell to extinguish Merlin's torch.

During the Battle of Camlann, Morgana used a nonverbal lightning spell to attack the knights surrounding her ally Mordred. Merlin later used a powerful lightning spell of his own to decimate her army and knock her unconscious.

After the battle, Merlin escorted a mortally wounded Arthur to the Lake of Avalon while Morgana ordered her remaining men to search for them. Merlin tried to trick two Saxons by using a nonverbal spell to conjure smoke in the distance and evaded several more by summoning a gust of wind to cover their trail with leaves. Enraged by their failure, Morgana used a nonverbal spell to strangle one of her men (The Diamond of the Day).
