Venom

Venom is a poisonous substance secreted by animals or other creatures. It is typically injected into prey or aggressors by biting or stinging.

History[]

Valiant Ewain III — Valiant's snakes attack Sir Ewan.

Valiant used an enchanted shield to cheat during the Tournament of Camelot. The snakes came to life on command and attacked his opponents with their venomous bites (Valiant).

Nimueh conjured an Afanc to poison Camelot's water supply, making it appear that a plague was sweeping the city (The Mark of Nimueh).

The Forest of Balor was guarded by the highly venomous Cockatrice, which Arthur killed to protect himself and Nimueh (The Poisoned Chalice).

The Questing Beast's venom carried the magic of life and death. When Arthur was bitten by the Beast, Merlin was forced to strike a bargain with Nimueh to save him (Le Morte d'Arthur).

Morgana was stung by a Serket in the Forest of Ascetir (The Nightmare Begins).

After Merlin followed Morgana to her secret meeting with Morgause, the sisters captured him and later left him to be killed by Serkets. Merlin was stung and nearly died from their venom, but Kilgharrah rescued and healed him (The Tears of Uther Pendragon).

Alice poisoned Uther by lacing his pain relieving potion with Manticore venom (Love in the Time of Dragons).

Snake Bite — The snakes' venom lingered for hours in Percival and Leon's veins.

Morgana often used venomous Nathairs to torture her prisoners (The Sword in the Stone, The Kindness of Strangers, The Diamond of the Day).

When Morgana kidnapped Gwen, she conjured venomous snakes to attack the Knights of the Round Table. Percival and Leon were both bitten, and the venom that lingered in their veins allowed Morgana to send them nightmares that led Arthur to the Dark Tower (The Dark Tower).
