Profile
Biography
Uther has ruled Camelot and its Kingdom for at least 21 years. After discovering his wife Igraine was unable to bear a child to suceed the throne it appears he sent Gaius to the Isle of the Blessed to ask Nimueh for help. As a consequence of using magic Igraine had to die during the birth to preserve the balance of Life and Death (Excalibur)
Uther threw Nimueh from Court and killied all users of magic he could hunt down in The Great Purge. This ended with the capture of The Great Dragon who was imprisoned under Camelot Castle to serve as an example.
Series 1
Uther is very much a tyrannical ruler who will stop at nothing to set things right in his eyes. Despite being presented with evidence he refuses to see some socery untill it is right under his nose (Valiant) but sentances a peaceful druid to death for just knowing spells and using them to survive (Begining of the End). He escapes death by a whisker on three occasions during the series (Remedy to cure all ills, Excalibur, To Kill the King).
Relationship with other characters
Uther is very critical of his son, spending mart of most episodes ordering him around like a second-in-command or scolding him. as a consequence Arthur is always beleiving himself to be "a big disappointment" a notion which uther final disspells at the end of Excalibur (Episode)
