FAITH IN THE SHOW RESTORED!
So, Arthur goes on patrol with the usual gang. Mordred sees his friend Kara and lets her go on purpose. However, she is soon caught, as she is followeed by Merlin and Arthur and she tries to assassinate the latter(how come NO ONE QUESTION HER DAGGER FLYING OUT OF HER HAND??? NOT EVEN HERSELF?)
Kara speaks againist Arthur in her trial. She is Morgana's ally, alright!!! Seriously, she is like THE BEST guest star we've ever seen!!! So bold, straightforward, brave, beautiful, but also cruel. I really LOVE THIS WOMAN! So, she is sentenced to death and Mordred has a meltdown and he and Merlin argue...Mordred thinks it's Merlin's fault. He is not entirely wrong, but not entirely right either.
Arthur is too stubborn to give Kara a second chance. Not that she'd take it but anyway. Now I understand why Arthur's Bane is Arthur himself. Mordred decides to take Kara and run away, but FREAKIN' MERLIN TELLS HIM ON ARTHUR!!! They are followed, and Mordred is torn between using magic and saving Kara and not hurting his friends. Just when he is about to succumb to Kara's will, Percival falcon punches him and knocks him out...
The two are brought into jail. Kara is given one more chance, but she does not repent and keeps telling Arthur that his doom is drawing close. Mordred cries as Kara is executed, and has a magical outburst, destroying his prison cells. Kara is executed, but Mordred escapes.
And guess who he visits? MORGANA!!!
He tells her that he shouldn't have doubted her wisdom and that he'll tell her who Emrys is. And guess what....HE DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MORGANA KNOWS MERLIN IS EMRYS!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO'S EXCITED? Probably ( ._.) but anyway.
What I didn't like in this episode....MERLIN, ARTHUR AND GWEN! After Gwen was rescued, she only appears to chil around and flirt with Arthur, despite war being announced. Merlin makes too many mistakes in a row, despite being warned, and takes all the wrong decisions all the time. Arthur is just stupid. This episode pushed me to the evil side even more! GO MORDRED AND MORGANA!!!!
I have to add that I also disliked how Arthur said "I should never have trusted Mordred" comparing him to the others who betrayed him, like Morgana or Agravaine. This time, it was he and Merlin who were at fault, and he could not even see that. I guess Morgana and Kara are right: He is not so different from Uther as he'd like to think...shame for Arthur's character in series 1,2,3 AND 4!
And by the way, Alexander was legendary in this episode! As was Kara's actress.

Some questions to ponder on...
*Why does Merlin not realise that he is making Mordred evil?
This episode really made me disappointed with Merlin. He is supposed to be the greatest sorcerer of all time, so how can he possible be so unwise? It is so clear that his actions in this episode played a large part in Mordred turning evil. I was really disappointed with him especially when he decided to betray Mordred for the second time. What has he ever done to him?
*why did Arthur say he should not have trusted Mordred when obviously Mordred proved to be very loyal to him?
It was so clear how much Mordred liked Arthur, even from the way he looked at him. He was like an older brother to him! I would have imagined that he would feel sorry for the way he acter towards Mordred, that he killed the person he loved the most. Yet... I guess this is typical Arthur behaviour!
*Why is Gwen so mysteriously happy all the time?
Ever since the spell has been lifted, we have only seen the cheery and giggly side of the Queen of Camelot. All she ever does now is have fun during the darkest of times and does nothing that really affects the storyline. To be honest, I miss the Guinevere we saw in the premiere.. Whatever happened to her?
