I want you to bring me peace. You must right the wrong that was done to me.
The Shrine Boy to Elyan[src]

The Shrine Boy was the tormented soul of a young Druid boy who was killed during a raid that Arthur led on his camp. Due to the unjust nature of his death, the boy was unable to find peace in the Spirit World until he avenged his death.

Biography[]

The Shrine Boy was a member of a Druid camp that was raided by Arthur and the Knights of Camelot. Young and inexperienced at the time, Arthur lost control of his men and the raid became a slaughter. Because of the unjust nature of their deaths, the people of the camp were unable to find peace in the Spirit World, which led other Druids to build a shrine at the site of the raid to soothe their restless spirits.

Several years later, Arthur, Merlin, and the Knights of the Round Table found the shrine while on patrol. Though Merlin warned them not to touch anything, Elyan drank from a well and accidentally released the Shrine Boy's spirit. The boy followed them back to Camelot and possessed Elyan so he could use him to avenge his death by killing Arthur.

After several failed attempts, he fled back to the shrine. Arthur and Merlin later followed him there and Arthur admitted to having led the raid on his camp. He explained what had happened and promised that the Druids would be treated with respect from then on. Seeing that Arthur was truly sorry for his failure, the Shrine Boy forgave him and was finally able to find peace. He released Elyan's body and moved on to the Spirit World (A Herald of the New Age).

Abilities[]

As a spirit, the Shrine Boy was able to interact with people and objects and appear and disappear at will. He was also capable of possessing people.

When he first possessed Elyan, he was only able to take control for a short periods of time. With each attempt, however, their connection grew stronger, and he eventually took full control of Elyan's body. At this point, Elyan became drenched with water and the Shrine Boy was able to speak through him with his own voice (A Herald of the New Age).
