Queens of Camelot are the female monarchs of Camelot. Most come into their power through marriage, but it is also possible to inherit the title from a father or husband, or to seize the throne through an act of conquest.
As the highest power in the land, Queens hold despotic authority over state affairs and oversees the running of the kingdom with the help of their advisors.
History[]
Ygraine Pendragon became Queen of Camelot when she married King Uther (The Dragon's Call).
A troll posing as the Lady Catrina was crowned Queen after she enchanted Uther to marry her. She was later convinced Uther to revoke Arthur's title as Crown Prince and appoint her as his heir instead, but was ultimately killed after the enchantment was broken and Uther was able to see what she truly was (Beauty and the Beast).
Camelot almost gained a Sidhe Queen when Arthur was betrothed to the changeling Princess Elena. However, Merlin and Gaius were able to free Elena from the Sidhe's possession and Arthur and Elena later called off the wedding because they did not love each other (The Changeling).
Morgana became Queen of Camelot on two occasions, the first when she overthrew Uther with an immortal army and the second when she overthrew Arthur with Helios and his army of Southrons. However, the throne was ultimately reclaimed by Arthur both times (The Coming of Arthur, The Sword in the Stone).
Morgana's former maidservant Guinevere became Queen of Camelot by marrying Arthur. After his death in the Battle of Camlann, she ascended the throne as the sole ruler of Camelot (The Sword in the Stone, The Diamond of the Day).

- Morgana is the first known Queen of Camelot to be a Queen Regnant rather than a Queen Consort. The second is Guinevere (The Coming of Arthur, The Diamond of the Day).
- Morgana is the only known Queen of Camelot to have ruled more than once, however only her first reign was official, her second was not (The Coming of Arthur, The Sword in the Stone).
