Poppet Enchantments are enchantments that utilize poppets. They can be used to inflict a variety of negative effects, including killing a victim outright or blocking their access to magic.
History[]
Mary Collins used a poppet enchantment to murder Lady Helen. She did so by stabbing the poppet three times, each time incanting a spell. Helen reacted to each blow as though she herself was being stabbed, and after the third blow she fell down dead (The Dragon's Call).
When Arthur embarked on a quest to the Perilous Lands, Morgause instructed Morgana to give him a Phoenix Eye bracelet that would drain his life force. By binding the Eye to a poppet with her magic, Morgana was able to activate its powers from Camelot. She did so by burning the poppet or its ashes, activating the jewel for as long as the fire burned (The Eye of the Phoenix).
The night before Arthur and his allies retook Camelot from Morgana, Merlin used a poppet enchantment to block her magic. He did so by incanting a spell that burned a poppet, which he then hid beneath Morgana's bed. When Arthur confronted her the next day, Morgana was unable to access her magic and was forced to flee (The Sword in the Stone).
