Poisons are substances that are capable of causing death, injury, or harm to a living organism when introduced or absorbed.
Poisons secreted by animals and other creatures is known as venom.
History

Nimueh conjured an Afanc to poison Camelot's water supply, making it appear that a plague was sweeping the city (The Mark of Nimueh).
Nimueh poisoned Merlin with a chalice laced with a petal from an enchanted Mortaeus Flower (The Poisoned Chalice).
As part of his plan to avenge his parents' deaths, Edwin Muirden tricked Uther into drinking a potion that left him temporarily paralysed (A Remedy to Cure All Ills).
In order to lift the Unicorn's Curse from Camelot, Arthur sacrificed himself by drinking what he believed to be a mixture of water and a deadly poison. However, the goblet actually contained a harmless sleeping draught (The Labyrinth of Gedref).
Arthur drank poison to free Uther from the Troll Catrina's love spell. His son's apparent death caused Uther to cry tears of true remorse, breaking the enchantment and allowing him to see that Catrina was a troll (Beauty and the Beast).
Merlin tricked Morgana into drinking hemlock after he learned that she was the source of Morgause's sleeping enchantment (The Fires of Idirsholas).
Morgana poisoned a sentry who saw her returning to Camelot with an enchanted mandrake root (The Tears of Uther Pendragon).
When Gaius was being possessed by a Goblin, Merlin and Gwen forced it to leave his body by poisoning him. They administered the poison by pouring it over the contents of the Goblin's treasure chest, which it had a habit of licking (Goblin's Gold).
Alice poisoned Uther by replacing his pain relieving potion with Manticore venom (Love in the Time of Dragons).
Cenred's men shot Arthur with a poisoned arrow when they took the Cup of Life (The Coming of Arthur).
Julius Borden poisoned Arthur and the Knights during their quest for the last dragon egg. He used a slingshot to shoot something into their soup while Merlin was distracted (Aithusa).
While possessed by a Fomorroh, Merlin laced Arthur's lunch with the deadliest poison, aconite or wolfsbane (A Servant of Two Masters).
After Arthur angered the Disir, Mordred was struck in the shoulder with a poisoned spear (The Disir).

Sindri sold Morgana tinctures of valerian and henbane to use on Arthur. She gave the potions to Gwen, who used the valerian to knock Arthur out before poisoning him with the henbane (A Lesson in Vengeance).
In order to prevent Merlin from interfering with her plans, Morgana lured him to the Valley of the Fallen Kings. She knocked him out with a stunning spell, then forced an unnamed poison down his throat (The Hollow Queen).
