My exams finally finished and again, apologies for not replying sooner!
In terms of the finale, it came to a point when I was scared we wouldn't get a magic reveal but thank goodness we did.
I agree, I think it would've been better had we seen the reveal earlier because I was eager to see how Merlin and Arthur would be after the reveal. I know, it was so sad to see Arthur angry at Merlin but I guess from his point of view his been lied to by his best friend for about 10 years and I feel like Arthur was more angry that Merlin didn't trust him rather than that he was a sorceror.
Even though it was rushed it was nice to see Arthur accepting Merlin in the end. But the question remains open...what would've happened if Arthur lived? I like to think that Arthur and Merlin would return to Camelot where Arthur would make magic legal as long it's not used for evil purposes. I imagine Merlin continuing to be Arthur's manservant, advisor and friend with everything as it was only that Merlin and Arthur go around making Camelot safer together, Arthur fighting with his sword and Merlin using magic. Haha when you think about it that's pretty much how they resolved every fight before, just Arthur didn't know about it.
In terms of Morgana, I wanted more of a conversation between Arthur and Morgana and would've loved to see some sort of redemption in terms of her character. I know she didn't deserve it but I refuse to believe that someone who was so lovely before couldn't have a shred of goodness left within them.
All in all, the finale was maybe not perfect but I've come to accept it as the only finale we will ever get. :(
What do you think?
