- “Guinevere informs me that you live in Longstead in the Feorre Mountains, is that right?”
- — Arthur to Mary Howden[src]
Longstead was a Camelot village located at the foot of the Feorre Mountains. It was the home of Gwen's friends John and Mary Howden.
History[]
Merlin, Gwen, and the Knights of the Round Table traveled to Longstead to investigate an outbreak of severe illness. When his treatments failed and his magic had no effect, Merlin began to suspect that the illness was magical in origin. They decided to return to Camelot to report their findings and get help, but were held up by the discovery of Lamia, who enchanted the Knights and lured the group to an abandoned castle.
When they failed to return, Arthur, Agravaine, and Gaius traveled to Longstead in search of them. Gaius quickly took over treating the villagers and agreed with Merlin's suspicion that the illness was magical. Later, after he learned that it was caused by a creature of magic known as a Lamia, he was able to concoct an effective cure.
Meanwhile, Arthur, Agravaine, and their men tracked Gwen, Merlin, and the Knights through the mountains to the abandoned castle. They saved Merlin and Gwen from Lamia's attack and took the enchanted Knights back to Longstead for treatment (Lamia).
