John Vincent Hurt CBE (b. 22 January 1940) is an acclaimed English character actor who provides the voice of The Great Dragon on Merlin. Although his character doesn't appear in some episodes he's been credited for voicing the title narration of all episodes up-to-date.

Hurt's career dates back to the 1960s and has included appearances in many iconic films and TV series, including I, Claudius, the first Alien film, Watership Down, 1984, and V for Vendetta. He also played Mr. Ollivander in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and reprised the role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and 2
