A ruthless bandit leader, Hengist lived on the Mercian border in a large, decaying castle.

Biography

He ruled over many deadly henchmen and kept a pair of lethal Wilddeoren as pets to dispose of unwanted guests. Hengist was in charge of the capture of Guinevere who he mistakenly believed was Morgana. When Guinevere tried to escape with the help of Lancelot, she was recaptured and she and Lancelot were sentenced to death. Fortunately Merlin and Arthur Pendragon arrived in time to rescue them.
Hengist fought in the Wilddeoren's cage to kill Merlin, Arthur, Lancelot and Guinevere, but Merlin locked him in the cage and he was devoured by a Wilddeoren (Lancelot and Guinevere).

Personality

Hengist was a merciless and sadistic man who took great pleasure in the suffering and death of others. He showed as little mercy to his allies as he did his enemies. Hengist was very greedy, apparently in more ways than one due to his massive size; in addition to being greedy about food, he was equally greedy about money. Hengist was attracted to Guinevere and, under the impression that she was Lady Morgana, said that she was as beautiful as her reputation claimed. However this didn't stop him from attempting to have her eaten by Wilddeoren
