The Guards of Camelot are soldiers who protect Camelot and make sure everything is safe. They guard the dungeons, the council chambers, the entrances to the city and the citadel and patrol the streets and castle. They also fight in the army.

Skills[]
They are shown not to be very good, as many invaders managed to distract, knock out, or kill them. The guards do not know what to do when someone enters the citadel at night as shown in Le Morte d'Arthur when Merlin's mother gets in after getting grievously ill.

- Guard the King and Royals
- Remain outside important rooms such as the Great Hall, Courtroom, and council chambers
- Patrol the city and castle and guard the gates
- Guard the dungeons
- Perform searches
- Perform arrests
Uniform[]
The guards uniform seems to be a chainmail haubergeon and a chainmail coif as well as a nasal helmet with a Camelot tunic. Some of the Guards use swords, and some use a roncone, a type of spear. Some of the Guards use horses, as seen in Beauty and the Beast, Part 2 when the Guards are searching for Merlin.
The ineptitude of the Guards[]
They are shown to not be very skilled as seen in many episodes. For example, in A Lesson in Vengeance, when Merlin disguises himself as Dragoon the Great to escape the dungeon, the Guards he meets along the way were totally inept at their abilities as they appear to not know what to do. In the end, Dragoon leaves easily.
