The Great Seas of Meredor are a large body of water located southwest of Camelot. The Labyrinth of Gedref and the Castle of Fyrien are located along its shores, and to the northeast is the lake that houses the Isle of the Blessed.
History[]
While trying to lift the Curse of the Unicorn, Prince Arthur faced his final test on the shores of the Great Seas of Meredor. He and Merlin were given a riddle involving two goblets, one of which contained a harmless liquid and the other a deadly poison. Arthur chose to sacrifice his life for Merlin's by drinking the poison, thereby proving himself pure of heart and lifting the curse from Camelot (The Labyrinth of Gedref).
Morgause and Cenred kidnapped Gwen's brother Elyan and held him captive in the Castle of Fyrien, which was located on the shores of the Great Seas of Meredor. Merlin, Arthur, Gwen, and Morgana embarked on a quest to rescue him and snuck into the castle by way of a secret underground tunnel (The Castle of Fyrien).
When Sir Leon encountered Morgana on the Plains of Denaria, she told him that she was heading to the Seas of Meredor. Gaius later deduced from this that she was traveling to the Isle of the Blessed (The Darkest Hour).
