Lindsay Vere Duncan played Queen Annis in the Series 4 episode His Father's Son of the BBC series Merlin.

Lindsay is notable for her role in Les Liaisons dangereuses (1985-1986) and Private Lives (2001-2002). She also starred in several plays by Harold Pinter. Lindsay has won two Olivier awards and a Tony award. Duncan played Adelaide Brooke, companion to the Doctor, in the second of the 2009 Doctor Who specials

Duncan is set to reprise her role as Queen Annis in the premiere of Series 5.
