The Pool of Nemhain is a lake in the land of Albion. It is the last of the Five Gateways separating the living world from the world of the dead.
History[]
When Morgana sought to prevent Gwen and Arthur's marriage, the Dochraid advised her to travel to the Pool of Nemhain. There, Morgana used a magical coin given to her by her late sister to summon Lancelot from the dead as a Shade (Lancelot du Lac).

- As a Gateway to the Spirit World, it is likely that the pool is guarded by the Cailleach, the Gatekeeper to the Spirit World (The Darkest Hour).
Mythology[]
Nemain is a spirit-woman or goddess in Irish mythology who personifies the frenzied havoc of war. In the ancient texts where the group of death goddesses known as The Morrígan appears as a trio — the three sisters who make up the Morrígna — one of these sisters is sometimes known as Nemain.
