Balinor's Cave is the cave where Balinor was forced to live following the genocide of his people during the Great Purge. It is located in the Forest of Merendra at the foot of the Feorre Mountains, and an exit at the back of the cave leads to the Tomb of Ashkanar.
History[]
When Kilgharrah attacked Camelot, Merlin and Arthur went in search of Balinor to ask him to stop the dragon's attack. They learned from Asgerd that he was living in a cave in the Forest of Merendra, but Arthur's shoulder wound became infected and he passed out during the journey there.
Fortunately, Merlin managed to find Balinor's cave on his own. Balinor used magic to heal Arthur, but refused to return to Camelot with them, declaring that he would not help Uther (The Last Dragonlord).
Merlin, Arthur, and the Knights of the Round Table revisited the cave while on a quest to the Tomb of Ashkanar. At the back of the cave, hidden behind a waterfall, they discovered an exit that led to the Tomb (Aithusa).

Trivia[]
- Balinor originally sought refuge with Hunith in Ealdor during the Great Purge, but was forced to flee when Uther discovered his whereabouts (The Last Dragonlord).
- Balinor may have chosen this cave due to its proximity to the Tomb of Ashkanar, which was where the last dragon egg was hidden (Aithusa).
