The House of Pendragon refers to the royal family of Camelot, which rose to prominence after Uther Pendragon conquered Camelot in his youth and was crowned King.
History
When Uther Pendragon was a young man, he came to Camelot from an unknown land and conquered it, after which he was crowned King (The Dragon's Call, The Sorcerer's Shadow).
Uther married Ygraine de Bois and she became Queen of Camelot. When they failed to produce an heir, Uther asked the High Priestess Nimueh to use magic to allow them to conceive their son, Arthur Pendragon. She did so, but the type of magic she used caused Ygraine to die in childbirth. Devastated by her death, Uther blamed magic and instigated the Great Purge (Excalibur, The Sins of the Father).
At some point before the Great Purge, Uther had an affair with Vivienne that produced a daughter, Morgana Pendragon. The affair and Morgana's true parentage were kept secret and she was raised by Gorlois until his death, after which Uther adopted her as his ward (To Kill the King, The Crystal Cave).
When Morgana learned of her true parentage, she became enraged when Uther refused to acknowledge her as an heir and became determined to seize the throne for herself. She conquered Camelot twice in the following years, the first time with the help of her half-sister Morgause and an immortal army, and the second with the warlord Helios and his army of Southrons. However, Arthur retook the kingdom both times and Morgana was exiled from Camelot (The Crystal Cave, The Coming of Arthur, The Sword in the Stone).
Morgana's betrayal left Uther mentally broken and a shell of his former self. One year after the Fall of Camelot, he was fatally wounded saving Arthur from an assassin and later died after Morgana caused Merlin's healing spell to backfire, after which Arthur ascended the throne as King of Camelot (The Wicked Day).
Several months after Uther's death, Arthur became engaged to Morgana's former maidservant Guinevere. They eventually married in the aftermath of the Second Fall of Camelot and Guinevere became the first commoner to marry into the Pendragon family and be crowned Queen of Camelot (Lancelot du Lac, The Sword in the Stone).
Three years later, both Arthur and Morgana were killed in the aftermath of the Battle of Camlann. Though their family name lives on through Guinevere, who ascended the throne upon Arthur's death, since both Arthur and Morgana died without issue, the Pendragon bloodline is presumably extinct (The Diamond of the Day).

Trivia
- The House of Pendragon is the only known noble family to have a commoner marry into it (The Sword in the Stone).
- Morgana's insistence that she is the rightful heir to the throne of Camelot strongly implies that she is older than Arthur, as her illegitimacy would otherwise disqualify her (The Crystal Cave, The Darkest Hour).
- Ygraine and Gwen are the only people known to have married into the Pendragon family as it is unknown if Uther had siblings. He may have taken on the Pendragon name after he conquered Camelot, as his legend counterpart did.
