The duel between Arthur and Evan occurred after Evan stole grain from Camelot and insulted Arthur's honour.
Events[]
While chasing Anhora through the woods, Arthur found Evan's camp and his supply of stolen food. Evan taunted Arthur about having fallen for his story about starving children and insulted his honour and Arthur lost his temper and challenged Evan to a duel.
Arthur and Evan appeared evenly matched at first, but Evan continued taunting Arthur and eventually angered him enough to strike a killing blow. When he tried to run him through, however, Evan vanished into thin air (The Labyrinth of Gedref).
Trivia[]
- The fact that Evan vanished into thin air and Anhora appeared seconds later implies that Evan was merely an illusion he conjured to test Arthur (The Labyrinth of Gedref).
