- “We are both creatures of the Old Religion. It is the source of your power.”
- — Kilgharrah to Merlin[src]
Creatures of Magic are creatures who possess magical powers derived from the Old Religion itself. Some are born of magic while others can be conjured using spells or enchantments.
Born of Magic
Creatures who were born of magic differ from conjured creatures in that they were created by the Old Religion itself, which was the source of their powers. Many of these creatures exist in nature alongside ordinary people and animals, though some, such as spirits and other inhabitants of the Spirit World, must be summoned to the living (Le Morte d'Arthur, The Darkest Hour).
Though most creatures of magic are connected to the Old Religion from birth, it is possible in rare cases for this status to be gained later on. Witches who become High Priestesses, for example, are made creatures of magic through their connection to the Triple Goddess (Le Morte d'Arthur, The Kindness of Strangers).

Trivia
- Some creatures that are born of magic can only be killed by magic (Lancelot, The Diamond of the Day).
- Most sorcerers are not considered to be creatures of magic because they merely channel the magic of the Old Religion and are not born or conjured from it (The Dragon's Call).
