The Circus Group is a troupe of traveling entertainers who perform throughout Albion.
History
The Circus Group performed at Arthur's birthday feast. They dazzled the court with their various skills, and then the ringmaster, the Gleeman, challenged Arthur to participate in his knife throwing act. The prince was tied to a spinning circular board and the Gleeman began throwing knives at him. The first two knives lodged in the board on either side of Arthur's head, and the third stuck in an apple that had been placed in his mouth.
The Gleeman was later revealed to be an assassin hired by King Odin to kill Arthur. The apple had been coated in a sedative that took effect soon after the feast ended, leaving Arthur defenseless against the Gleeman's attack. However, Uther intervened and killed the Gleeman in a duel, though he was mortally wounded in the process.
It was later discovered that the Gleeman had had an accomplice among the performers, Geldred, who fled the city after his death (The Wicked Day).
