I know it was a bad ending but we can do nothing about it 😞
But there is something i dont understand. Why did merlin not call the dragen emediatly? They would be much faster and Arthur would have Made it!
Lolllllll Arthur’s destiny built up for 5 season to not even happen merlin legit gets betrayed by everyone every episode in 4 and 5 seasons then they go to present day we’re his whole work ment absolutely nothing only good thing was the brilliant acting of Arthur and merlin they were doing everything right at first had a medium rare steak with good seasoning then they burnt in 😭😭😭😭no pay off at all
I feel like if they were going to kill arthur off they should have atleast ended it with guinivere having a baby. i dont get how they were most likely in the 15-16 hundreds and they ended it with a truck driving by merlin, that means he lived hundreds of years and is still waiting for arthurs return. really was hoping on a baby arthur!!! I just watched and finished the series. so upsetting
Let's just enjoy the way it ended and imagine the way we wanted it to end. lol, those guys have beards now!
Surprised to see that people are still talking about this show after like 9 years, shows that if a spin-off show, or even movie was created that fans, old and new, would stillw watch. So this is my second time rewatching Merlin, and the first time that I watched it, I was completely sad and just couldn't handle the way it ended. Yes we know Arthur dies in the legend but the show changed multiple things in the earlier seasons, why couldn't it change the ending? I just finished watching the show my second time, and now I kind of understand the reasoning to the ending, the dragon did say that arthur is the "Once and Future King" meaning that Arthur will comeback when Albions need is greatest. That being said, it also showed Merlin still alive meaning he lived 10-15 centuries all by himself with no friends (Assuming that he didn't do something to make the others immortal, which I find funny writing cause that would be close to impossible). Back to the topic though, they hopefully lived a good life and hopefully gwen lifted the ban on magic and people were allowed to practice it. Gwaines death really wasn't necessary and I find it stupid that it happened, but it is what it is. Gauis probably died a couple years later seeing as he was an old man, but hopefully Merlin and him lived a great life. So everyone Merlin knew and was close with died, meaning he was left alone for many centuries waiting for Arthurs return like the loyal servant he was. I wish that they wouldn't have showed the modern era, just about like a couple decades later or like 200 years so it wouldn't be completely new and modern. One of the scenes should've been atleast Guinivere having a baby with Arthur so that the penedragon dynasty could continue on and there names would live on for ever. But the writers of this show weren't the brightest. With that being said, I thought the ending was somehow mature and reasonable but Merlin could've called the dragon sooner so he could like risk his life for Arthur and they could've continue on. But now Merlin and Arthur assuming Arthur comes back anytime soon, they have to live together without any of there friends? They died years ago, how would Arthur react knowing he's been dead/asleep for 10-15 centuries. I doubt he would want to live without guinivere by his side. But to wrap up this whole thing, the ending wasn't thatttt bad but it definitely could've been better.
Love this show!! The finale, not so much. As always the actors were spot on. This is a great cast. However , I wish the producers/writers had side-stepped the traditional outcome of the Arthurian tale. We all know the Camelot legend ends sadly, but I think it would have been appropriate here to end happily,if you will. Wonderful cast and atmosphere. Even though their relationship would have changed , I would have loved to hear Arthur yell "Merlin!!", as he often did, and see Merlin smile as the finale ends.
What the actual frick was that ending. So mad, I don’t care if it’s how Arthur really died, they could have changed it for the show. Morgana got annoying at the end she just kept getting flung backwards and surviving. I was so happy she died but then to have Arthur die the same day just sucked.
I just binged Merlin. I was crushed. Why did they have to kill off Arthur? This sucks. Either they should have ended with Arthur’s Return or not shown Merlin in Present Day England.
Am I the only one who, thoughts(I feel that I know it too) that Merlin had a GOOD ENDING, I remember that there where a good ending in Merlin, I remember it so clearly, like it was a yesterday, it went same as this episode ending but there is a twist Merlin saves Arthur just in time with his magic, behind a rock and Arthur kinda proudly says "I guess you lied all this time ha" and Guinevere where on Arthur's side and then their is cut and they are in back in Camelot many years after Merlin looks old and Arthur and Guinevere does do so too. Is this again a Madela effect or what is happening, why do I rememebr this?
What do you think?
