Rewatching "Merlin" - Season Two
Just Updated
... is the final episode of the second season and presents us Merlin's father who passes a great gift to his son. Only Merlin, the one who is responsible for Kilgharrah's attacks, can save Camelot from being destroyed by the dragon's wrath.
Please discuss here.
Morgause is back, and this time she wants to destroy whole Camelot by using Morgana as the source for a deadly spell. Camelot falls asleep and Merlin and Arthur have to save sleeping Uther and the rest of the kingdom's inhabitants from the horrible Knights of Medhir, which causes Merlin to even attempt murderer.
Please discuss here :-)
In today's rewatching episode, Morgana is willing to sacrifice his friends and all those others who serve Uther when the charismatic sorcerer Alvarr wins her loyalty in the attempt to bring Camelot's downfall.
Moreover, Morgana's one and only short romance can be seen here. At the same time, Merlin plays with the future and has to deal with what he sees in the Crystal of Neathid.
Tonight's rewatching episode presents us a lovesick Arthur and the unification of the Five Kingdoms by Uther, bizarrely other Five Kingdoms than the ones we saw in season five, which would make it Ten Kingdoms actually....
Anyway, peace and love is what Camelot wants and also has to deal with.
Please discuss here.
...only comes into existence because of a terrible curse that results in the death of numerous people. Merlin falls in love for the first time and finds himself losing his loved one at the hands of Arthur....

...introduces Morgause, presents "Igraine" (?), shows Arthur's short temper and thoughtlessness, lets Uther lose against Arthur for the first time, makes Gaius and Merlin forget about previous happenings and gives us nevertheless the best swordfight scene on the show.

.... has a an impeccable sense for finding true sorcerers and witches. Unfortunately, when Merlin's unwary use of magic is witnessed by a commoner, the Witchfinder's investigations threaten the lives of those three in the castle who indeed are either born with magic or practice it. Gaius has to save Merlin and Morgana, and Merlin has to save his mentor when Uther is forced to sentence Gaius to death after his confession of having practiced magic.
Please discuss here.
A day early, sorry. I may not have the time tomorrow.
A disgusting troll seeks to get her hands on Camelot's treasures and tricks Uther into a love affair with her.
Uther's softer side as a "fool in love" gives Arthur an extremely weird stepmother, and once again, magic endangers the kingdom.
... meet again under unpleasant circumstances. Three famous men risk their lives to save the future queen who is still a "mere servant", not worth to sacrifice Camelot's soldier for in Uther's eyes.
It takes the most famous and noblest of all knights, the most famous and beloved future king and the most famous and powerful sorcerer ever to rescue Gwen from the cruel Hengist.
Indeed, the nightmare begins - sadly with Merlin and Gaius deciding to leave Morgana alone with her fear of her own powers. When Uther thinks that Morgana was kidnapped, he has Arthur slaughtering another druid camp and things go worse.
Would things have turned out differently if Merlin had revealed himself to her and if he had not brought her to the druids?
Please discuss here.
Sorry for being late with this episode, I was too busy and forgot about the rewatching threads. By the way, everyone is free to post the episodes here in the forum in order to discuss them :-)
"The Once and Future Queen" hides Arthur and teaches him some humility which gives a clumsy farmer the opportunity to shine in front of Camelot's people and the king. Meanwhile Odin's assassin attempts to kill Arthur.
Please discuss here if you like.
In case you are still interested in discussing the Merlin episodes - Season two starts with "The Curse of Cornelius Sigan".
Camelot encounters a threat that only Merlin can eliminate. An ancient promise of a ruthless sorcerer comes true.
