There have been reports of miracle cures. A boy thrown from a horse, a farmhand mauled by a boar.
Uther to Gaius[src]

Boars are tusked wild pigs that inhabit the forests of Albion. They are common quarry for hunters and are dangerous and aggressive when provoked.

History[]

Arthur was nearly killed by a boar while hunting. Merlin saved him by killing the boar with a spear, but because he used his magic to do so, he was unable to admit it and Cedric took the credit (The Curse of Cornelius Sigan).

A smoked boar was among the provisions that Merlin gathered in preparation for Cenred's attack (The Tears of Uther Pendragon).

When Alice returned to Camelot and began performing miracle cures, one of her patients was a farmhand who had been mauled by a boar (Love in the Time of Dragons).

Trivia[]

  • In the audio commentary for The Curse of Cornelius Sigan, Bradley James and Colin Morgan nicknamed the boar 'The Garlic Boar'. They called it this because they filmed this sequence in a field full of garlic (look out for the white flowers on the ground in this scene; they are in fact garlic plants). The whole place stank of garlic and they never got used to the smell.

In the Legend[]

Twrch Trwyth was an enchanted wild boar in Arthurian Legend. King Arthur and his men pursued it with the aid of Arthur's dog Cavall.
