Blacksmiths are craftsmen who use forges to create objects from iron or steel.
History[]
Gwen's father, Tom, worked as a blacksmith in the city of Camelot. Tom was arrested after Tauren hired him to use his forge to melt some lead as part of an experiment and was later executed after he tried to escape from prison (Valiant, The Mark of Nimueh, Excalibur, To Kill the King).
Arthur told Merlin to take his horse to a blacksmith after it threw a shoe (The Labyrinth of Gedref).
Tom's son, Elyan, was also a blacksmith. He used his skills to support himself while he traveled the world and later took over Tom's forge when he returned to Camelot (The Castle of Fyrien).
Gwen also possessed some smithing skills, as she was able to forge a duplicate key to Leon's cell after the Fall of Camelot (The Coming of Arthur).
