Balorian Spiders are massive arachnids that inhabit the Caves of Balor.
History[]
Arthur encountered these spiders during his quest to retrieve a Mortaeus flower from the Caves of Balor. After Nimueh betrayed Arthur and left him for dead, he killed one spider with his sword and was nearly attacked by a swarm of hundreds. However, he followed Merlin's guiding light to safety before the spiders reached him (The Poisoned Chalice).
Abilities[]
Balorian spiders appeared to be very sensitive to sounds and could climb relatively fast. They were known to be capable of killing a human, as Nimueh was certain that they would be able to kill Arthur (The Poisoned Chalice).
Trivia[]
- Though capable of killing humans, their exact method of doing so is unknown (The Poisoned Chalice).
- Balorian spiders appear to prefer dry, dark places to live and hate daylight, as they did not follow Arthur after he left the caves (The Poisoned Chalice).
