What are you doing in my kitchen? Keep your dirty fingers off my food. Do you understand?
Audrey to Merlin[src]

Audrey was the head cook in the kitchen of the citadel of Camelot.

Biography[]

Audrey confronted Merlin when he entered the kitchens shortly before the Feast of Samhain. When he stammered that he was there for Arthur's shirt, she pointed him to where it was hanging and went on with her work. A moment later, she angrily exclaimed when she saw Gwaine and Percival attempting to steal a roast chicken (The Darkest Hour).

While possessed by the Fomorroh, Merlin went to the kitchens to collect and poison Arthur's lunch. He nearly bumped into Audrey as was he leaving, and remarked that she "stank worse than her food". Though initially speechless, Audrey soon recovered and took out her temper on one of her assistants, who had appeared amused by Merlin's remark (A Servant of Two Masters).

While in the kitchens doing Gwen and Arthur's washing, Merlin tried to take a freshly cooked dumpling and was scolded by Audrey, who smacked his hand with a spoon. Later, after Arthur was poisoned, Merlin encountered Audrey while disguised as Dragoon the Great. Able to speak without consequence, Merlin freely insulted both her and her cooking and then used his magic to knock her out with a pan, after which he remarked that he should have done so years ago.

The next day, Audrey confirmed that Merlin had been in the kitchens when Arthur was poisoned, clearing him of suspicion (A Lesson in Vengeance).

Personality[]

Audrey appeared to be short-tempered, passionate, and focused on her work. She was deeply suspicious of anyone in her kitchen who didn't belong there. She had little patience for Merlin when she interacted with him, and Merlin appeared to strongly dislike her in return (The Darkest Hour, A Servant of Two Masters, A Lesson in Vengeance).
